Duration of the B.Ed. Program

It is a two-year regular (full-time) program based on Four Semesters.

Scope of the B.Ed. Program

B.Ed. Program is a set of various theory courses and practical work that are linked together meaningfully aiming at achieving excellence and competence in pedagogic practices and enabling the teacher-trainees to become efficient and effective school teachers.

Eligibility for the B.Ed. Program

Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and / or in the Master’s Degree in Science / Social Sciences / Humanities, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55 % (fifty-five percent) marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the B.Ed. program.

The Bachelor of Education program, generally known as B.Ed., is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VIII), secondary level (classes IX-X) and senior secondary level (classes XI-XII).

The B.Ed. Division runs the B.Ed. program for those who aspire to become a school teacher and those who are already working as Assistant Teachers in the schools of GNCT of Delhi who wish to be promoted and teach at upper primary, secondary or senior secondary level. The B.Ed. degree course offered by the B.Ed. Division is approved by the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi.

Scheme Syllabus

B.Ed. programme is a professional course of two years duration. The maximum time span in which a candidate must qualify for the degree shall be three academic years, failing which he/ she shall not be allowed to continue his/ her studies for the program.

The programme follows the choice-based credit system. The total credit requirement for the award of the B.Ed. degree ranges between 70 and 80 depending upon the specified curriculum and scheme of examination of B.Ed. programme. The Candidate is required to fill out the application form at B. ED Admission 2025 and pay the requisite application fee. Admission shall be offered on the basis of performance in B. ED Admission 2025.

Yes, a provisional admission can be provided to those candidates whose result is awaited of qualifying examination. However copy of the final result needs to be submitted within one month from the date of commencement of the classes.

No, loan facility is available for students all over India subject to fulfillment of conditions stipulated by the bank extending the education loan.
